New electric shower needed?

The shower has been leaking recently where the hose connects to the unit. Tried a new connection and seemed ok until the next time I took a shower and the trip switch shut it off while I was in there. When I took off the cover of the unit to have a look there was water leaking onto wires inside it. Is this something that could be fixed easily or I better off getting a new shower?

Broke at the moment after being laid off so wondering is it possible to fit a new one myself (basic diy skills) or would I have to get a plumber / electrician in? If so how much would I be looking at paying? Trying to figure out if I'll be able to get some money together. No point in calling someone out if its going to cost a fortune to sort it out as I won't be able to afford it.

I wouldn't mess with those electric showers. Use the bath until you get the money together to get a qualified person to look at it. I'm all on for DIY myself but there's no way I'd ever touch an electric shower. Don't depend on a trip switch to save your life...
