    Well lads
Have good few of the common halogen flood/yard lights around the yard and in a few sheds. They are stupidly unreliable. Anyone buy good LED type flood light for their yard? What size will do the same job?

If you put the smaller wattage tubes in the halogens from day one it really extends the life of them , the 500 watt bulbs burn the holders , no help to you on led's sorry

Had the electrician in lately to replace old halogens and he put in metal halide floodlights, he says they only use around 70watts of electricity and give out upto 1000 watts of light. Says alot of lads leave them on all night as they use so little electricity

I got a 20 watt Led in Conollys of Bagnalstown and it seems a good job . They had a bigger one there as well . I was looking for some Leds for inside the house and there is not much choice and the staff do not know much about them .
These CFL bulbs are only a bags no matter how big they are .
Its hard top buy a 150 watt bulb for a coal shed that will not be on for very long . Most houses are too dark because nobody reads any more and are either looking at the TV or Lap top .
1800 lumens seems to be the equivalent of a 150 watt bulb .

I replaced mine last year with a 28W equivalent. I would say it give out 80% of the light a 500W halgen would.

    Think there called a Vega.

I use led everywhere , they are more expensive but they are cheaper in the long run and ultra reliable.
