    Hi all,

A friend of mine wants to play Battlefield 4 on ultra settings on a 1080p Monitor, what GPU would he need to get?

Would a 660Ti do it? Or would he need to go higher?

    Cheers,
    Ant

A 280x would be a great card to get. Depending on the budget of course.

He couldn't wait, he bought the below for €190.

    MSI 660Ti Power Edition OC 2GB (Core Clock - 1019MHz, Boost Clock - 1097MHz )

Cheers for the reply though, yeah the 280x's are nice alright.

Damn, the 280x would have been much better for BF4, with the release of mantle. Hope he enjoys the 660ti though, awesome card

My 680 cant run all on Ultra 1080 with AA off. It drops below 60 like anvil. I am not sure how you can run it 60-100 fps!:confused::confused:

Agreed I have 2 680s and I only get 100 -140 fps in Bf4 maxed @ 1080 so either there is something seriously wrong with our cards or that is some kind of god version 660ti.
But not messing it could be that you had HBAO off on the 660 or something as well as no AA that would get you that fps. Really I would say a 770 or a fast 680 would be the best bet. I had bf4 on one 680 oc to 1225 mhz running it maxed out generally over 60fps. One 680 from adverts could be cheaper than a 770 now that I think of it.

Yes i run HBAO off but more because i dislike the feature, little to no difference with on or off performance wise.

Your more than welcome to come to my place and see tbh.
    Rest of my rig

i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz [dropping back to default speed and theres a big drop in performance] What CPU you guys running and speed?
    12GB G Skill sniper DDR3
    Crucial M4 SSD

The MSI twin Frozr i have is meant to be very close to a 680 according to reviews when i was buying it.

    I have a 3770k at 4.5ghz
16 gigs of 1600mhz vengance ram.
    Msi gd65 mobo
2 msi 680s at 1125 mhz core clock oc.
I run everything maxed with a 90 field of view and get 100 average fps.
The main difference you get between a 660 and the higer cards is the bus speed that won't change regardless of the vendor mods to the card.
All I am saying is I can't see at the same settings a 660ti beating a 680. I would recommend people to buy a card that can play the game at almost max settings or max for two reasons A it will last them longer and B the game looks better with everything on.

At 1080p? You should be getting more than that with a Ti or a 690 for that matter.

Do you have the latest drivers?

Well the fps listed above was without/turned down AA and HBAO turned off,if you turned them off/down you would be getting higher fps(not that you need to with your card). The average fps will come down with those turned on,which i presume they are for the benches linked.

Thought you meant with the same settings you were getting lower fps
