Best UPC wireless router?

    Hi,
I'm on the 150MB package with phone. I recently had issues with my phone service when using my Cisco 3925, it's wireless coverage wasn't great. UPC swopped it for a UPC Thomson TWG-870U which fixed the phone issue but the wireless is even worse. I'd like to contact them again to change the router. What is the best one they have for wireless?

    Thanks

Can you use your own wireless router with the UPC modem?

    Your own access point? Sure.
Bridge theirs to your own router? Mostly.
    Remove their modem completely? no.

See the other threads. Already explained.

Yes as Ed E says turn the UPC thing into a bridged modem and do any routing yourself it's pretty simple.

Any IP router will do the job (NOT DSL router)

Just remember, Wi-Fi speeds are limited and will never reach your full speed. Wired is the only way.

They touted that you would for ages, you wont. The VOIP ATA works just fine with the unit bridged (2425 or 3925). What you do lose is UPC support as they will use it as an excuse for any problem you may encounter.
