    Hey all,
Moved house and there's a tv here but we are not sure it's working. We turned it on obviously but only getting blue screen with menu. No channels coming up. We got a coax cable thinking it might pick something up from the nearby sky dishes (for testing purposes- we are getting upc/sky package in next few days).
However, don't want to get a package to find out tv isn't working!

Is there any other way to check? Just have the tv and coax cable at the mo!

Appreciate any advice as we are clueless about this.

    What menu appears on screen?

You're not picking anything up from a satellite dish without a satellite receiver.

What is the make and model no. of the TV?

Any idea what the co-ax cable is connected to - dish, aerial or cable system?
