So the dish got blown down in storm over winter and since then I've had a tv sitting in corner just using rte app.

as I'm starting from scratch where do I go. I was just getting fta through the tv. None of the terrestrials so what is your tv set up? I'd rather not go the sky or upc route.

Install an aerial for the Saorview channels connected to a Saorview STB or TV - http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/.

Do you plan get the dish reinstalled?

Put the dish back up, and get a freesat, or a generic satalite receiver box. Get all your free to air UK channels for free. Combine with a Saorview TV or box and aerial for your irish channels.

Yes, if you have a TV and no matter which service you use with it you require a TV Licence.

    Yes, I'm aware of that - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=84175120

Right now the TV Licence applies.

True, I know I quoted you, but the info was for anyone considering using any form of internet based solution, as a long term replacement for TV to avoid paying the TV licence.
