Was just wondering has anybody here got any opinions on which is the best trailed 10 foot mower on the market, what makes are best? what makes to avoid? What money would a new one be? Is there any finance options available with them?

    Thanks

    Bought my Kuhn in '09.
Lovely mower to use, cost a bit with 20k new including vat.
Prob cutting 1500 acres a year with no serious problems till last year when it nearly broke my heart, problems everyday, it was as if it reached pension age.
There'll be a krone or a tarrup in its place this time if I can scrape a few quid together.

Have had a JD, Kuhn and Tarrup over the years, would rate JD the best with Kuhn a close second.
Wouldn't wish a Tarrup on my worst enemy! Had to get rid of it after 3 years, completely broke my heart!
A neighbour has a Krone and it seems to do a good job but he tells me that he suffers with the fixed plastic conditioners which break for fun.

Have had a lely and thought it was a great yoke, was a side mounted one and was very easily driven

Had a JD 1360 for a few years, one tough piece of kit , ran into a well liner ( J ,I ment to tell you "bout that ) mowing one day , stopped tractor dead in its tracks, knocked off a wear piece between the half moons and bent a couple of sections, replaced a hub bearing about a month later , mowed away for two years after that contracting , took a few right wallops she did.

id rather stay with tried and tested machines before buying something new in the market.

Hi Guys, checked with the Farmer next door who has one for 15 years - says it works a dream and really robust and strong. No problem with the rams. He also told me that he bought new 15 years ago so Fella defo not new to market. I googled it and they are imported by www.farmec.ie.

that's worse. if they are in the market 15 years and feck all sold that's a pure sign there not up to the standard of Kuhn/ john deeres

Don't know about you but there are plenty of Fella machines around here!!
Thanks for all the nice comments though, Lol.

There was an old fella here and in fairness it had a fair bit of work done, but it was soft...
To be honest i wouldn't touch the new stuff, any of there gear I've seen second hand over last few years looks rough and a fair bit of it has had the welder at it :(

Id say there's a reason there's not much of it about

Bought a second hand one last year and going grand so far, our one is shaft driven same as lely but a good bit heavier and you can cut hedges as well.

We had an 8ft trailed JD and now have a 9ft Krone. The JD was a bulletproof warrior of a mower and the only reason we traded her was the wear after years of service.

The Krone follows the land well and cuts nicely but is nowhere near as good to take the crack of a stone etc. We'll be getting a JD again when the time comes. Good luck with whatever you buy :)

Sorry to divert the thread... but has anyone any thoughts on a mounted 8'6" claas 2650 conditioner mower?

Was offered one at Ok money and am wondering what lads experiences are?
