I'm not particularly into craft beer but I guess it's almost exclusively men who are.
    Am I right?

Mostly, but I wouldn't say almost exclusively by any means. For example.

Nope, not all men. It nearly broke my heart to leave Stoneybatter (read as leaving Mulligan's).

And then Kavanagh's closed down (which is close to where I work), my heart nearly broke a second time.

Most women I know, would rather drink wine or fruit ciders.

When I was growing up, most women wouldn't drink a pint, only glasses. And I'm not that old.

I have one female friend who has a keen palate when it comes to beer.

Generally, though, I find women are much more open minded when it comes to tasting different beers - they tend not to have such a fixed idea as to what beer should be as most men who aren't enlightened.

My Wife! She happily quaffs O'Hara's Stout, and Trouble Ór. Always gets the tickets for the RDS too.

My wife too! Mind you, she's from Oregon and craft beer is pretty much the only kind of beer they have.

I'm a craft beer obsessed lady :) I spend a looooong time picking out a good variety of new ones to try, and favourites, whenever I feel in need of a treat.

I've an IPA, a stout (both Shepherd Neame) & Rogue Hazelnut ale chilling in the fridge right now :p Happy Friday

Get that stout of the fridge woman!

Ha. The stout was actually in the garage, not the fridge as I mistakenly typed earlier. I like it somewhat cold. Personal preference innit

    I converted my girlfriend.

Before she would only drink Heineken and Coors Light.

But then I got her into pale ale and blonde ale. Now she's very adventurous and even better she helps out with my home brewing now!

Great to see people regardless of sex drop their pre conceived notions about beers. The GF for instance had a terrible thing against any beer that wasn't light in colour and she couldn't see through it.

I'm a girl into craft beer and I know a handful of others as well in my relatively small social circle.

My OH is a keen craft beer drinker. Al started back in 2001 when we went to Little creatures brewery in Perth.

Hoppy and stouts would be her favourite.

Wheat, ipaa and stouts for my missus, just not many at a time

My Mrs. doesn't really drink beer but if she was pushed into drinking beer it would be a pale ale on cask. I make her taste lots and lots of beers and the above is about the only style she likes. Oh, she also likes Boon Kriek (preferably aged for a few years) and oddly, she quite liked Fran Well's Shandon Century stout but all in very small amounts.

I'm a lady and love beer. Lived in Germany a long time ago and lived trying the different beers in different towns then used to drink frazikaner in the 90's. my favourite drink back then.
Also lived in the uk for ten years so have drank many many guest ales but have a particular fondness for IPAs.
Go to Probus when I can for their beer tastings or just to pop in for a drink when I'm in Dublin.
I do also love my wine but currently gin is my thing as there is a rising interest which is great and the selection has vastly improved.
I just love trying new foods an drinks really.

Ps, excuse spelling as I am on my phone.

The gf loves wheat beers and a while ago complained that it's my fault she no longer is able to enjoy lagers (used to love Peroni). :pac:

I am definitely a craft beer drinker. Nothing like some ale for what ails you.

I'm a craft beer-loving woman. Love my ales (particularly IPAs and red ales) - so having pubs with cask taps on almost every corner here is absolutely fantastic.

I'm a woman and I love craft beer too, especially IPAs and decent stouts.

It's an expensive taste, but at least there IS a taste! :p

My wife enjoys trying new beers with Duvel being her go to beer if we are in a craft beer type pub....having saying that though she is just as happy with a bottle of Corona

I'm another lady who introduced her fella to craft! He's getting there slowly but surely :)

I'm a IPA gal at heart (with a preference for DIPAs!) and so is my best friend, we're mad for trying new beers all the time. I also work as a bartender so that has its advantages!

If anyone's heading to Alltech today, the N17 stand are looking for as many women as possible at 3pm for a toast to women who love craft beer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 536 ✭✭✭nosietoes

And what a delicious pair of beers to do the toasting with!
