Cost of CPD for Qualified Accountants in Ireland

I qualified last year with CPA and graduated in December.

2014 is my first year having a requirement to do Continuous Professional Development (CPD), also known as Continuous Professional Education (CPE) by some.

I've been bombarded since January with emails about CPD courses in Cork and Dublin. They are not cheap.

I have a requirement to do a cetain amount of hours per year, on a rolling 3 year cycle. Can't see being able to cover all the requiremens via internal training days in work and self-learning.

How do other people manage CPD requirements?

Does your office pay for CPD courses or must you pay yourself?

What job provides courses during the year?

A lot of cpecpd courses are overpriced.
