    Hey guys,

I'm looking for an SSD (60GB at least) in Dublin today. New or used, private seller or bricks and mortar shop... any advice

    Thanks

They sell them in PC World in Waterford so presumably there is one in Dublin? You'll pay a premium buying from them though!

If you get really stuck , "maplins" beside smyths off Parnell street. Opposite woolshack pub.

The do computer parts, normally don't recommend them as they are over priced and only there if you are desperate.

It would be cheaper to buy SSD in germany, then fly there to pick it up, have a dinner, maybe hooker for few hours, come back home and order 2 large Pizzas then buying SSD in Maplins.

    An here, don't go nuts.

You'd have to use the 40% off Domino's code. Then you'd be grand.

As best I can remember PCWorlds SSD prices didn't strike me as being completely obscene last time I popped in if you really need it in a hurry, although you'd still still be paying a €15-20 premium (Actually probably a bit less for a 60GB, I was looking mainly at the 120GB units).

Bought my SSD's from overclockers.co.uk and had them within 48 hours

Were excellent during a lengthy RMA issue with an OCZ I bought ( never buy OCZ SSD's)

I may just order from the UK and hold my breathe. Parts arrived for my build today but couldnt afford the SSD last week when ordered. Have a 500GB hard drive I can pop into it in the mean time. Hopefully there wont be too much hassle moving the OS onto an SSD next week.

Will microsoft allow my to use the same product key on my SSD?

PC World prices on the Evo's are surprisingly alright. Bit of a premium over online obviously, but very affordable. Maplins on the other hand....

dabs.ie allow you to pick up from their warehouse
?? AFAIK dabs.ie is just dabs.co.uk with euro prices, they have no physical presence in Ireland. Maybe you're thinking of elara.ie? Any case, Elara still don't hold any stock there, it's ordered from their wholesalers / distributors in the UK and delivered to their warehouse. You can save a day or so by picking it up from there rather than having them courier it to you.
