Hatchback Recommendation

My current 03 seat ibiza is giving issues and tired of getting it repaired. Always driven hatchbacks, had a corsa before this.
I don't do long motorway drives really, mainly driving from Celbridge to the surrounding area and Dublin.
Will be buying straight out and looking at 12 to 15k probably.
Would trading in my old car knock off much?
    Any help is appreciated

If your current Ibiza is not in great shape and needs fixing then you will get very little for it from a dealer. On the other hand if you just want rid of then trading it in might be the quickest way if not the cheapest way of going up to a newer car.

You would get a nice Hyundai i30 petrol well within budget like this one, very reliable motor and well equipped for the class:

Of if a 3dr is not an issue then this is a little more sporty, same car underneath as the i30:

Well the only thing wrong with ibiza is slightly higher emissions, something to do with hydrocarbons.
    I'd be after a 5 door model and when I say new I kinda meant a 141.
    Appreciate the reply

    How about this
Brand new 141, hatchback, 5 doors. Can't say I've driven one myself, but they're well reviewed and seems to meet your criteria..

That's not even a supermini its a town car do two sizes smaller.

Go 131/132 and you will have much more choice at 15k

It'd probably suit fine for someone only going Celbridge to Dublin mind. People do crazy things just to have a brand new car. It's certainly not how I'd spend 15k! Another Ibiza maybe?

    you won't get much of a 141 for 12-14k.

The only cars you will really get brand new in that price range is a pint size city car like the VW Up!, Seat Mii or Skoda Citigo.

Alternatively a Dacia Sandero if that floats your boat.

Appreciate all the feedback and I've driven the sandero and very noisy. The i10 does look nice as does all the i series.
Yeah I see what you mean about a year back and my budget, a lot more options.
Is there anything in a diesel if I went with a 2013? 5 door is a preference

I don't see the point in a diesel really if your main journey is going to consist of mainly stop/start in traffic. Modern diesels do not like that sort of driving as that is not what they were designed for.

    Are you being serious?

When spending up to €15k on a car, motor tax should not be the be all and end all decider. There are plenty of petrol cars with low motor tax too, most of the small cars similar in size to your Ibiza have similar low levels of motor tax to diesel versions.
