I was looking at a Diesel focus on Donedeal for near 8k including the vrt

I was just wondering would I not be better off going over myself and buying the car? So I had a very quick look and came across this one

    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/ford/focus/used-ford-focus-1-8-tdci-sport-5dr-euro-4-winsford-fpa-201401291403633?logcode=p

Now I know its not as high as spec as the one in Ireland but there is over 50k less on the clock (Irish based one is 100k)

Is there anything in particular one should be aware of or watch out for when buying from the UK?

The first one is 08 and the second is 06.
I would imagine that it being pre 08 then the CO2 would be higher making VRT higher.

If I was you, I would go over and pick a car yourself.

    Much better selection.

Although they're is more hassle involved.

that great but make should to get proof of the two belt being done .because if the seller is any bit dodgy he could just show you a receipt for the top belt being done and that only half the job.

In my opinion unless you are spending 20k + you won't save money by going to the UK, especially now that Sterling has strengthened.

However, cars in the UK are generally better looked after and serviced and are of a higher specification, so it may well be worth the hassle.

i picked up a golf for €12k after vrt. had a look at similar engine/milage spec cars after and the difference was 3k (ok pre haggle) but also much lower internal spec, no cruise control, rain sensors, auto lights mirrors etc.
exchange rate was the same last may
