Anyone know any cheap places to get bones for roasting or very cheap organ meats in Dublin city centre?

Tried FX Buckley; the liver costed more than steak mince and they apparently don't have heart?

A lot of online places sell meat, great prices. I haven't ordered online yet but I'm sure some other people will chime in on this topic.

I often see heart and oxtail in the butchers in Tesco.

Oxtail a cheap and amazingly flavoured cut of meat, get it before it goes the way of pork belly and gets notions above its station.

Fresh lamb shanks now 14 euro for two I saw the other day. Scandalous.

I was surprised to see oxtail in the regular pre packaged section in dunnes cournelscourt the other night. Think it was €5 per kilo. Quite a few of them there, I had no idea what it was at first.

I'm seeing it around a lot more too, I wonder why?

In some other thread people were moaning about the rising price of usually unpopular cuts, blaming "hipsters" creating demand.

As a kid I never even copped on that oxtail soup actually being made from tails, to me it was just "that nice soup I always get, not vegetable the other dark one that's like gravy". I never thought much about vanilla icecream either, just thought of it as "that's plain ice cream".

Yeah never thought of it as literal either. Made oxtail soup from scratch once, it was amazing fresh but it did not re-heat well at all.
