    Calving is going well here, heifer calves come fairly easily, the bull calves need a bit of assistance sometimes. Everything is in calf to Limousin. All cows so far no heifer ha s calved yet. The breakdown of the diet per head per day is as follows;
    2kg of straw,
    8kg of fodder beet,
    0.8kg 28% beet balancer,
    120g pre calver,
    15kg silage.

    Just wondering is the diet I'm giving a bit strong, especially for heifers?

    Feeding beet to precalvers can cause milk fever so might be better replacing it in diet until after calving
