Matted hair

Our puppy is all better now after getting her stitches out today after her emergency. But while she was unwell we didn't get much grooming done. Her beard ( from the cone and being wet alot) is all matted against her chin. Have tried to brush it out over the last couple of days but no joy. Wondering if I should cut it all…

Wondering if I should cut it all off (I had to cut a few bits already)? Or is there any other solution? We have a few different brushes but nothing is getting the matts out.

I'd recommend getting a de-matting tool (like this http://bedrocklabradoodles.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/TP450_dematting.jpg ) to have just in case matts pop up in the future.

Sometimes brushing at a matted area can actually be quite sore for the dog, so cutting it out is the kinder thing to do.
