Are all gears troubling? Or just first/reverse?

    Does it sound like this?

all gears, sounds a bit like that, go aways when you clutch the car

Had a 97 vectra one time that had all those symptoms, within a few days the gearbox gave out, cogs and casing on the road, change if before it goes (gearbox) if the car is worth anything to you, i.e have it a long time that you know it inside out,if that doesn't suit you the only other option is to change it,i binned the vectra, wouldnt. go near an opel ever again, nothing but trouble.

ok jacked her up and seal must be gone going into gearbox(diff) as litre of oil on street this morning....would bearings etc collapsed or something

that's identical to what happened my Vectra,if the bearing collapsed she wouldn't willingly engage a gear, you'd blow the gearbox doing that, get the seals checked, you could save money if that's the only problem,it will get worse if left untreated, thats where I went wrong,

one guy thinks bearings can be replaced with removing the gearbox from car

yeah, seen it done on an avensis once, but changing the whole box wouldn't be as time consuming i'd have thought?
