Anyone any experience with dogs bladder stones?

Poor Tiffi is passing pink bloody pee today, waiting to go to vets now, he's calling me when he's on his way back into town (out on calls).

Just wondered if anyone has any experience with this, he says it's bladder stones rather than kidney stones, advised increasing water and giving wet food, but she's not a big drinker.
It's not the first time, it happened New Years, anyone any advice?
Will be googling later, just wondered if anyone dealt with this before?

Is Tiffi a dalmation by any chance? Problems with stones can sometimes be breed specific.

No she's Lhasa apso, they are more prone to them.
Got to vets, just need to get a sample for him to test, to check urine ph and work out what to do next.
Kidney diet is what he normally recommends, but he's not convinced the dry diet most of them consist of is a good idea.
Need to wait and see results of urine tests.
Tiffi is 5 in May, so young for this to happen. :(
