I have lots of silverware from Mam's house that needs to be cleaned I saw on Google that you can clean it with foil, baking soda etc but I don't want to damage it even though it's silverplated. Would I be ok using this method or should I get a professional cleaning solution if so what and where would I buy it it's just for a few badly tarnished items so dont want something mad expensive.

Brasso Duraglit is the best product and should be in your local hardware shop. :)

Try "Peek". It comes in a large silver tin and most hardware shops have it.

Expensive, but the best Ive ever used.

Duraglit wadding - having used it once, the wadding is naturally completely black. Do I dump it and buy another tin next time or do I re-use the blackened wadding?
    Thanks for any advice.
