Is planning permission required for a new silage pit ? ( even if it is on the site of an old smaller one)

I would imagine i would have to go by the book if i look for a grant for it. Is it wurth it for 40 %

You will probably break even with the 40% grant but you could be forced into other works if the Dept are not happy with the rest of the yard.

Is that a yes or no ha? In a similar situation here, old pit in bits. However I was thinking about just putting down a slab instead, surely that wont need permission?
