Got a letter from Tipp Co Council today demanding €108 back tax on my Defender for last May!

I left it untaxed while I was in the UK from March to June last year. Got RF111 stamped on 3rd June In Cashel Garda station and road taxed it for 6 months at over €500 on 4th June. What neither myself or the girl in Cashel tax office noticed was the guard had forgotten to change the month on the date stamp. They've obviously done an audit and as the dates don't match, Garda stamp reads 3rd May, they think I owe them back tax!

Going to politely tell them to poke it but there must be a few others in the same boat.

Have you proof of payment with the date showing? If so then there should be no problem.

Telling them to "poke it" (whatever that means) won't do you any favours.

    Mistakes happen.
