Hi, I want to call samaratins tonight as I have most nights but the problem is I live with my parents and I don't want them to hear my conversation and know somethingn is wrong. It is a very private matter. Can anyone think of somewhere safe and private to make this call because I can't. Thank you

Have you got a car? If so, maybe sitting in your car would be the best thing?

If you have nowhere private to talk maybe email or text messaging might work, here's their mobile no and email address.

    TXT: 087 2 60 90 90 Email: jo@samaritans.org

Here's a link to their contact us section of the site
    http://beta.dublinsamaritans.ie/contact-us/

They have a drop in service too and the locations are on that page.

Hope you find a way that works for you.

Thank you both, I don't drive but calling in would be an option. I would prefer to speak to someone on the phone but just have to accept I can't.

I wouldn't be concerned about calling in. A face to face conversation can often be more reassuring than a phone call, and whatever you say will be treated with the utmost confidence. Good luck OP....

None of us are qualified here OP but there are plenty of sympathetic ears here if you want to talk about what it is that's bothering you. There are plenty of people here willing to listen and will try and help if they can. I hope the issue is resolved soon x

Maybe Merkin might've meant sitting into your parent's car either?

Is there no time during the day that you could make the call? I'm assuming that you're at school. Is there anywhere you could go at lunchtime that's a bit quieter? Like a corner of the school playing field or a nearby park? Where you live at home, is there nowhere outside you can go either?

Thanks all for your suggestions, I am actually 26, but still living with my parents. It's very hard to get some privacy and sitting in their car would be too obvious. I have emailed so that's a start. As you can tell by the time there is no sleep for me tonight. Thank you very much for your kindness

Well done on sending the email. Maybe take a "walk " today and find somewhere you can sit to make a call. Sometimes just having someone able to listen in a non-judgemental way is all we need. Have a look at the charter as well there are some other organisations there too, and we provide depending on the group - links, emails and in one case the username on boards that you can PM directly.

    Best of luck.
