    Hey Folks

Just looking for some help identifying the rubber boot that's marked in the images (sorry that they're not the best quality). I noticed that it was ripped this morning when I was checking the oil

Car is a 98 1L VW polo and the boot appears to be connected to the gearbox (?) and the front passenger side wheel.

Any ideas how much it would cost to replace?

    thanks for any help!

That is a rubber boot protecting the inner driveshaft that comes form the gear box. It is packed with grease to protect the shaft so I'd get it sorted asap. The boot itself won't be expensive and I can't imagine the labour to be that expensive.

That looks like an inner boot, aka a drive shaft boot.

    Cheers!
Didn't want to end up ringing the garage and trying to explain that some rubber thing in my car attached to some metal thing is broken and how much will it be to fix it. I'd end up in the cries of retail thread!
