Wii-U visibility in stores

I went into Smyths to get Super Mario World 3D World. Nowhere to be found on the ship floor. After enquiring the lady went into the back and came back with a fresh sealed copy. I was curios so I asked her how many copies she had. She said there was a stack of them in the back.

Why is the flagship game for Wii-U not only buried in the back room of a store but not on the display console they had in the store ? At least that was working.

Its a bit frustrating considering the recent news.

Yeah, gamestop have about 4 shelves dedicated to upcoming releases upstairs in clonmel, not one wii u box on it, even though games like watch dogs are there for ps3 and another 2 lines on the shelf for the ps4 version i think.
Do Nintendo have reps what visit our stores at all?

Yeah, it's really irritating going into HMV now too, and seeing nothing but the initial launch titles for the Wii U on the shelves.

What bugs me about the HMV thing is they bought out / merged with XtraVision. Xtravision had Pikmin 3 in stock, Lego City Undercover.... All HMV have is launch titles at ridiculous prices. And then they talk about how the WiiU games don't sell... if the only Nachos they had were 18 months old, those nachos wouldn't sell too well either... jesus...

Their 3DS game stock is almost as bad, but you occasionally see some new released there!
That was my thoughts exactly though, they complain that they don't sell when they're not trying to sell them!!!

It's gamecube all over again. Everyone else is checking out the wares at the front of the shop, but you have to shuffle sheepishly down to the back, or ask if they've got anything behind the counter, like an aul fella looking for the dirty videos. They should just have a separate room at the back, a dimly-lit one with one of those doorways covered with strings of beads, and a hand-written sign sellotaped over it "Wii U Owners Only."

Yes it is quite silly. Its a cycle. Games don't sell, so they don't get put on the shelf, or prominently displayed. When their not displayed, they don't sell.

And Mario 3D World is AMAZING. I am playing it with my two 7 year old boys and they are utterly estactic
