I'll be there. I presume you mean no entrance fee at the gate and you can enter on the day.

No I mean we won't be taking any entries at the gate, we've been getting too much hassle on the gate for the last few years. All entries will be done online now like any road race.

Dunleer Athletic Club is delighted to announce that Coca Cola has come on board once again to sponsor Rás na hÉireann Cross Country at Oldbridge House estate, Drogheda on Sunday next 16th February. Kevin Matthews, Chairman of Dunleer AC was delighted to share the news this week that Coca Cola has agreed once again to support the work of the Dunleer AC Rás na hÉireann team. While Coca Cola is the main sponsor, the Club is delighted to announce and acknowledge the local sponsors who support the event every year, with the latest to announce support this week: Goldcrop, Dunleer and Wisteria Lane, Dunleer. A full list will be published on the event programme on Rás day.

Dunleer AC is looking forward to welcoming hundreds of juveniles, juniors, seniors and masters athletes to the event on Sunday next. The committee has worked hard to organise this big cross country event once again and have reported that the course is in excellent condition. Sunday 16th will be a fantastic day for all sports fans as hundreds of runners descend on the Battle of the Boyne site to challenge for individual and team honours. The Polish senior men will be specially welcomed as they arrive to do a course inspection on Saturday in advance of their race on Sunday. The Larry Mc Guill Cup was won by US athlete Brendan Gregg in 2013 and one wonders whether an Irish man can win the Larry Mc Guill cup in 2014 or will it go to Poland?
The Polish runners have impressive credentials:
    Marek Skorupa
    Personal best:
    3000m – 8:07.78 (Sopot 2012)
    5000m – 14:10.12 (Bielsko Biala, 2013)
    10000 – 29:15,58 (Mikolow, 2012)

    Krzystof Zebrowski
    Personal best:
    800m – 1:48.43 (Gdansk, 01.06.2013)
    1000m – 2:22.18 (Plizhausen, 22.05.2011)
    1500 m – 3:35.07 (Rieti, 08.09.2013)
    3000m – 8.06.13 (Gateshead 23.06.2013)

Juvenile races commence at 11.50 with the Special Olympics category races, followed by a full juvenile programme. The ladies race over 4km commences at 1.30pm, and the men's 6km will start at 2pm. There will be a 3km fun run at 2.30pm. All entries €5. Nobody pays at gate. Free admission for spectators. Please enter in advance to speed up procedures on the day at precision timing's website http://precisiontiming.primo-solutions.co.uk/ps/index.htm, or email names and categories to tydunleer04@gmail.com, and pay on the day.

Dunleer AC maintain their connection with Armagh AC and will travel to their partner Club in Armagh City on Thursday 20th February for the famous International Road Race. This week of sport and culture is enhanced by the talents of the events organisers and by the amazing Brian Vallely, world renowned artist and piper.
