Getting married in April and going to america for a few weeks, will be in florida for when the players championship is on in sawgrass so would be rude not to go for at least one round of it, ive checked up the tickets and there not that bad at $58, Anyone have any experience of these events? Probably be the Thursday or the Friday that we go. Definitely going to be shouting mashed patatoes and get in the holeeee!!! haha:D

Sounds brilliant. Dont miss the oppurtunity and enjoy it. $58 is nothing for a day out like that IMO.

Talk about setting the tone. Class - well done dar.

Wife " Would you like to go on the romantic sail with lunch in am. "
dar " Sorry, luv - got to go to sawgrass in am"
    Wife "What, cut grass ?"
dar " well it is a once off - America - A pga thing - "maaaaaassshhh potato""
    Wife "It is our honeymoon"
dar " Look - this chance is a once in a lifetime"
    Wife " "
dar " It is only $58 - want to come "
    Wife " "

    Joking - class.
She will get you the tickets for your present.

Might see you there. I'll be heading up on the Sunday. Got my tickets last week. Been at Bay Hill a couple of times and really enjoyed the experience. I've been told Sawgrass is very spectator friendly

Bring the wife along - she will like the fuss and atmosphere. Plus she will be in Honeymoon mood and you will be best thing since sliced bread - you could bring her to a sh1t slinging contest and she would love it ;-)

Heading to the Masters myself in April as my first "Majors" attendance so excitement is building. I won't get to shout "swallow an apple" at that one though :-D

    My nightmare..... :D

The lack of knowledge or interest can be great.
I have "qualified"/"made the cut" for day 2 of our weekly competition (two separate competitions run on Sat & Sun) quite a few times over the last few months...
It'd be bad form if I pulled out of the competition darling after making the cut today darling ;)

There ya go Dar, you can't spell marriage without a mirage (made that one up myself)

Ah Dar_Cool, you're green and innocent, if I'm writing a post about pulling the wool over my wife's eyes... don't respond with my real name.

Do a quick edit there before you're paying half my solicitors fees. :D

Ha, sure if we're being honest, I'm sure very few of us said we were going to play golf with internet friends for our first Boards Outing....
    I only confessed last year!

Sawgrass is definitely worth the trip. I've been lucky enough to have had a couple of games on it and its very spectator friendly. Its a bit off the beaten track though. You could take the wife, it'd be a great day (the practice days would almost be more fun), or depending on what direction you're coming from, you could leave her off in the St Augustine Outlets to shop away (about an hour away, maybe slightly less) and pick her up on the way back to wherever. Or the St John's Mall which is a lot closer, but a lot more high-end shopping.

There's a cool restaurant around the back of the property, right on the Intracoastal Waterway that's worth checking out called LuLu's or something like that. Its a bit "homey" but the food is fantastic and I think its where Rory had his 21st birthday a few years ago during the The Players.

It'd be a shame not to call into the World Golf Village near St Augustine too, seeing as you'll be in the area !:)

They have divorce courts too, you'll be fine.
