Lads I have a area of cubicles that isn't suitable for a automatic scraper. We have a outside slurry tank so I was thinking that if I could sunk the water out of that tank and wash down the cubicles with the water. What I want to know is it feasible?

Could you get the scraper attachment for the quad?

We scrap it down with the tractor atm but in the summer time when there wouldn't be much slurry the wash down might be easier

Flushing or flood wash system I think it's called? Popular in the US and even in the UK now. Looks like a good job, could be expensive with pumps and tanks I don't know.

Have you a way of collecting and adequate storage for the water used for land spreading?

The flush systems I've seen on tinternet are used in conjunction with separators.
Amout of water used is frightening. What also struck me was the high frequency of flushing required to keep the system moving and prevent dry lumps forming. Due to shortage and availabity of water it is recycled water from the seperators.
High risk of problems with udder health with these IMO.

Might be an idea recycle water used in parlour wash down?

Sure there is not another solution?

Do not think what you are thinking is a goes. The water in a slurry tank is urine so you will be washing yor area with urine.

Most flush washing systems involve using another tank to store soiled water and use large pipes and a rising flow to flush an area. You need a large volume of water to flush area and need to gather again and pump back into tank to reuse. The exit from tank needs to be large enough to allow flush of water.

If you were using 2-3/4'' pipes as risers you would need a 8-12'' exit from tank create flow and pipe this to 4'' risers. Then you need to flush regulary so dung has not dried in area being flushed. The systems I have seen are for cleaning collecting yards etc after cows so that afterwards yard is considered clean and any rainwater need not be collected as soiled water.

Could be good when it comes to agitating your tank with all the recycling of water through the winter !expensive pumping the amount of water needed into huge storage tanks to give a good flush
