    hi there,
Looking to book a self catering home this year in ireland for my husband and 2 kids (under 2 years old).
last year we went to a place on the shannon called self catering homes in mountshannon. They were not very nice to say the least. dirty and grubby but the location was nice.
dont mind paying for something that is clean and close to a town that we could walk to.
willing to go anywhere in ireland in the month of june\july\august.
if anyone has any suggestions, i'd appreciate it.

    thanks

I can recommend the Falls Hotel Self Catering in Clare - great hotel and Self Catering facilities. Get an apartment with a balcony overlooking the river.

The town itself has a big Supervalue so very handy for shopping. Lahinch Beach is four miles away.

Last year we brought our caravan to Lough Lannagh Village in Castlebar.. They have a great range of self catering accommodation and a small restaurant on site..

Its on the edge of the town so no bother walking in to the town for food or entertainment..

Its set on a lake and there are good paths for walking/cycling..
Next door is a public playground

Then its an easy drive to the coast, Western greenway, Westport and Achill..

We plan to go back again..

Not affiliated in any way... its just a real nice place

One thing, their not great with e-mail, ring them.

Well for what it's worth i have a house to rent in goleen west cork. Close to the mizen head, very spectacular scenery. The prices would be similar to the ones in jocelynel's post.

Hi we stayed in wexfordbeachhomes.ie near Kilmuckridge in wexford last year and cant recommend it enough. Our kids were 4 and 2 at the time and their needs were catered for eg stair gates available etc. Even supplied 'rainy day' kits and nets for crab fishing. Website looks fab and what you get. People were lovely to deal with as well. Not in any way affiliated.
