Cracked alloy

    Hi there. Does anyone know of a place in Mayo where I can get an alloy welded. Wheel welded before but needs doin again. Cheers

    Ah here, if it's been welded before and cracked again - get rid of the wheel and replace it.

    Alloys aren't meant to be welded anyway. The weld ends up becoming stronger than the rest of the wheel, and you end up getting another fracture in the metal due to the weld!

    Doyle Motor & Tyre in Castlebar do welding but check on donedeal and adverts for sets of new/used alloys without welds/cracks.
