Relief on Second Redundancy

Just wondering if anyone could clarify a situation for me, an individual is made redundant after a number of years and gets relief on their redundancy package. Fast forward 5 years and they are made redundant from their subsequent role (both jobs in the private sector) is the same general method of relief on their package available to them?

    Many thanks.

Bacally if they got top slicing relief the first time they can't get it the second time (although if they are made redundant after 1st Jan there's no top slicing for anyone anyway.)

They would get the basic exempion (10,160 plus 765 for each year service) but wouldn't get the increased exemption (10,000) that they would have got on the first redundancy.

Statutory redundancy rules would be unaffected.

I am in the same position - receiving redundancy for a second time - received the last one 5 years ago. So I would still get the 10,160 + 760 x 5 = 3800+10160 Total 13,960 - it this correct.

My contract in the termination section states "The Employment Contract may be terminated by either party upon one month's written notice, effective as of the end of a calendar month"

Can any advise on what the second part of the above statement mean - highlighted in bold.

If I received notice on March 7th - is it effective from the end of March - i.e. Mar 31 finish employment Apr 30th ?
