Cow with Laryngitis

I have a cow at home that is breathing very loudly, at first I thought it was pneumonia but her lungs weren't under any pressure and eventually to put my mind at ease I got the vet to have a look at her and he said it was laryngitis, he said it wasn't a major problem and it is usually fixed with a couple of injections and it some times wears away itself after time.

Anyway I injected the cow a few times and the blow stopped but it is back loud as ever over the last few days and I am worried that her throat will become so inflamed that eventually she will not be able to breath, going to the factory isn't really an option because as she is feeding a young calf and she has drugs in her now too...anyone come across this problem before?

Never had experience of that, when you say a few times, that 2 or 3? Reckon you'd want to inject again for 5 days, give vet a ring, he might change antibiotic.

Had it in a calf 15 years ago, wasn't an easy cure then but I don't know about now.

Very little blood supply to the larynx so would imagine you'd need a long course of injections.

I had a heifer weanling that got laryngitis and never got any better but went on to have seven calves it never caused her any ill health ever, We called her whistler because of the sound she made.
In the end we found her dead in the field I cant say if it had anything to do with her condition or not.
