Absolute Radio

I decided to check out Absolute Radio, because having listened to it online before, I thoroughly enjoyed what was being played, it catered for all my music tastes, and it made a change for the sort of monotony that were faced with on some of our stations.

Imagine my annoyance when I tried to listen online to find that the service is no longer available in the country. It's like seeing an offer in a magazine on sale here and you read the small print to find it's "open to UK residents only." The recent "25 Years" station was a pleasure to listen to for the very short time it was on air. That's the sort of station I would like, especially when playing the songs not usually heard on other stations.

Still available on satellite if you want to listen but obviously not a solution for portable listening.

Thanks for that. Yeah, a friend was telling me it can still be got with a satellite dish or whatever. I've just noticed that the app on my phone works, so I guess that's my only option for now. I just need a decent pair of headphones :) The laptop was handy to listen on, and it would have been ideal for work too with the computer.

Also terrestrially on Freeview if you're in range of either Divis, Brougher, or Limivady.

Strangely, it's now only in mono. Not sure when this happened but last time I checked it was in stereo.

Such a pain in the arse. Started using tunein radio again and no go on there. The app works just fine. For now......
