rust treatment

    hi chaps,
    i have a old landy im doing a few bits on to tidy her up and theres surface rust here and there on her so im looking for something to remove the rust and paint over...what on offer
    any other ideas i should take into account

    The general consensus is you cut out the rust and weld in fresh metal.

    If you want to do a quick fix then get an angle grinder and grind back to remove all the scale until you are left with solid metal, which will probably be pock marked and uneven from rust ingress. Hopefully there will be no holes...
    then paint with a rust inhibitor solution and leave it to convert and dry. (bottle of rust inhibitor is 15 euro).

    Fill, Prime and paint.

    I cannot account for the long term effectiveness of rust inhibitor solution, but I'm sure it would stall rust for a few years.

    its all just surface rust so not to bad wont need to cut and weld,
    hoping the pant on will do the job,im planning on doing the chssis aswell and body shultz after
