    Hi folks,

I'm researching which putter to buy and I've narrowed it down to the follow:
    1 Odyssey Metal X 9
    2 Odyssey Metal X 2-Ball
3 Odyssey White Hot Pro 9
4 Taylormade Ghost Spider Single Bend

Has anyone got experience of any of these.

You cant really go wrong with an odyssey, best putters ive used by a mile, I find they make the ball roll really nicely, its up to your own preferance, i love my 2 ball putter, i find it very easy to line up the ball with where i want to putt it,

You have 2 heal shafted blades and 2 mallets in there. First you need to decide what type of putting stroke you have, then pick the one you like from that category.

I literally spent an hour in halpenny's playing with different putter before buying mine and I still feel like I rushed it.

I'd say give yourself an hour or more and go try as many as possible.

Try lots of different ones and whichever feels the most comfortable to you or makes you believe you can putt well with it get that one.

As said above, try loads and take your time. I have a odyssey white hot no.1 I think. It was one if the first about 12 years ago. Find it brilliant and have no desire to change it. Once you have one you like it will last you years!

I bought 4 putters second hand for the price of 1 new putter. Odyssey no9..7..5 and no.1 on adverts last year. Each a different weight balance..stoke weight..I ended up choosing a mallet head no.5..
    Saved a fortune..sold 2 on since.

I was in a position like this a while ago and had decided upon a metal X 8. The blade style putter. After ages of agonising I went to McGuirks and Halpenny golf only to be told the metal x were end of line and they wouldnt be getting any more even though they were supposedly freely available on the website.

So it might be worth ringing the shops to see if they have them.

I had a 2 Ball Putter and its defo the best and easiest putter to use, i got a Scotty GoLo for Xmas so using that at the moment, im giving the Scotty a go and see how i go, could end up going back to the 2 Ball tho....

The only thing i would say is this. I had a white hot 2 ball for a few years. I wanted to change to a blade style. So I bought the metal x (number 7). I couldn't get used to the metal face on the putter. I couldn't get any feel for speed/pace on my putts. I felt that the ball would come off the face at different speeds. So after a couple of months with it I traded it in for a Versa (number 7.) the versa I got is a blade type but has the same white hot face insert like the 2 ball putter I used to have. I immediately had a better feel for my putts. If I were you I'd just watch out for that. Other than that just make sure you get the correct length putter.
