What should I have for breakfast?

I'm leaving work after an unexpected 10 hour day. Have 8 bottles of Aldi Pale Ale in the boot, which I fully intend to knock back when I get home. 24-hour Tesco on the way home. What would the wise posters of AH suggest I buy for the hungover breakfast in the morning?

What will help with the fear, and bonus points if it is relatively healthy.

Breakfast in can that you can buy in pound shops.

Won't be complaining of a hangover after that anyway.

Smoked salmon and fillet steak, tesco do serious dauphinois potatoes in the ready meal section.

Apparently scientists are saying that Sprite, of all things is the best cure for a hangover. As for breakfast, depending on how hungover you are you may not feel like cooking tomorrow so maybe get something precooked.

Way overpriced for what it is in my opinion. There's a kebab place I go to just across the water on corner of Capel street which is just as nice and miles cheaper

Do 24hour Tescos open all night in the South? They close at midnight on a Sat in the North.

    My latest buzz for breakfast......

    3 ingredient banana pancakes..

    You will need:

    2 eggs
    One and a half banana
One eighth of a teaspoon of baking powder.

    Method.

Mash banana(s) in Bowl, but not too much. You want some lumps left for consistency.
In a seperate Bowl, whisk two eggs,
    Add baking powder to eggs...

Combine eggs and bananas and stir thoroughly.

Heat frying pan to medium to high heat.

Add a splash of oil to pan.

Add mixture, two tablespoons at a time.
When baking powder activates (bubbles rise) flip pancakes and continue to fry on other side for a minute or so.

Serve in a stack with a bit of melted butter and some maple syrup.

Cheap, easy, filling, healthy and tasty. Yum yum.

Beans and scrambled eggs sounds like a disgusting combination.

OP, get a good readymade quiche lorraine and some nice self bake rolls and proper butter, none of your dairyspread muck.

Plenty of Barrys tea is a given.

Whatever you do eat make sure you have grilled mushroom and tomato with it. I forget why but it was on some program that these two did something to help with hangovers.

I heard a scientist interviewed about the Sprite and tablets that they believe people could eat with enzymes that could make you sober in 30 minutes (only on trial in mice at this stage)

Scrambled egg and bacon on a baguette. Cook em both in the micro so you don't have to stand over the cooker hungover.

You could always pour the beer over your couch and carpet, piss in the bath, empty two bags of Tayto in your bed and fart in the laundry basket, then wake up with a nice clear head and make yourself a lovely Sunday dinner.

I posted this recipe a few weeks back on the food forum on boards. Got great feedback.

Anyone who tries, continues to cook them. Great way to get eggs and bananas into the kids too.

Oh, also taste great cold (take to lunch that day)

a variation on the croque monsieur as per the following

triple decker white sandwich with the following fillings: cheese, roast beef, ballymaloe relish, mustard, anything else lying around.

Coat the outside of the sandwich in whipped egg, milk, salt and cracked black pepper, and cook it in a griddle, or a frying pan, until golden brown.

    should resemble this

I've never had Sprite, but it was definitely Sprite that was recommended. 7up would probably do the same thing.

The radio said it is only sprite because of its chemical composure, I think the interviewer did ask about 7up, but the scientist was adamant!
