I'm not too picky either way. I do find the Lidl ones a bit rubbery though

Unless the mountains were named after him, I find myself not caring much.

    Ah come on.
Can't beat a full Irish breakfast with plenty of beans. It just isn't natural without them.

They provide the lubrication. It's like driving a car without oil

Beans are an abomination of a food and the world would be better off without them. Don't even dare think about bringing them near one of the national treasures.

I find the actual oil in the full Irish tends to provide the lubrication.

I use Castrol to cook the fry and then eat it straight out of the pan.

    Do I win?

That makes me feel sick. I hope to rule the world someday, I'll put a €500 tax on a tin of beans.

Really? He seemed very vociferous in his public libel challenging, and nobody came out against him. Unlike a certain formerly well known squeaky clean grandmothers favourite English singer who took out an injunction barring any reporting on his links to a London guesthouse come rent boy brothel in the 80's.

I think the thing is that there was a member of his family allegedly involved in some Saville style stuff, the papers just reported it as McAlpine though and thats why he was able to threaten legal action.
I'm not sure what happened with the relative though but if your related to someone like McAlpine you have a powerful friend.d

If it's got beans in it it's not a full Irish, it's an abomination.

If there's one thing worse than rumour, its innuendo about rumour.

If you have something to say about mcAlpine then come out and say it.

Absolutely. The full Irish does not have beans. You can order a full Irish with beans if you are that way perverted but don't drag all full Irish breakfasts down to your gutter!

Bull! There was rumour which was subsequently proven false. The man dies and you come on here with all the nudge huge wink wink...watch this space. What is the point of the thread? Have you actually anything to say or is it just to besmerch a recently deceased person? I'm genuinely confused as to your motive or intent.

This reminds me that the popular entertainer Brendan O'Carroll used to work in the kitchen of Downing St. while Thatcher was there and he often served her her favourite drink, hot milk and pepper.

    Here what the link says:
The former political adviser and businessman was recently
wrongly implicated in a child abuse scandal, when
allegations were the subject of a BBC investigation

So maybe you can tell us what additional information you have that makes you feel confident enough to start up the rumour mill a day after his death?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,477 ✭✭✭Hootanany

Lovely, you have just implicated an existing organisation. You can't lible a dead person but you can an organisation! P

    You can't libel the dead
But see how quickly this thread starts naming other people.

    You can't libel the dead

I never said you could. But there were other allegations made in the thread.
Anyway, it's a nonsense thread that's only headed for trouble. To save everyone the hassle, I've locked it now.
