    Hi,

was thinking of renting a villa this year for a family holiday, found some great value & variety on this website http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/ just checking if anyone else has used his site and how did you get on. I have checked their facebook page and there seems to be some reported problems but the majority are OK ? Any feedback welcomed before I make the plunge and book ?

    thanks

No experience of that site, I can recommend www.holidaylettings.co.uk as I'm not long back from renting a private apt in Fuengirola. Couldn't have went any smoother really.

Cheers will give that site a look over - if you don't mind me asking did you pay in full before you arrived ? most I have checked out seem to want a deposit and then the reset 8 weeks before you travel, is this the norm?

We did pay in full, but it wasn't 8 weeks, it was more like 3 or 4. The estate agent wanted us to do an induction over Skype, taking approximately one hour, which there was no way I was sitting through, so just tell them you have no fixed line broadband ;)

Used both OwnersDirect and HolidayLettings. Had to pay a deposit of approx €100 each time to secure booking. Paid the rest on arrival. These were directly booked with the owners - not through agents. I enquired a few that were rented out through agents and they did want full payment in advance.

Had no problems with the rentals we had - both in costa del sol and will defo rent via either again.

Thanks for the feedback - having a look at some nice places in the costs dorada area.

I have used www.holidaylettings.co.uk a few times now. Had to pay deposit first, then sometimes balance on arrival others balance before we arrive. Never had any problems. I always check that they have a history of good reviews.

I have used ownersdirect.co.uk a number of times. Generally, paid a deposit at time of booking and the balance about a month before arrival. I never experienced any problems.

    Hi,
We have used both OwnersDirect & HolidayLettings many times and have had no problems with either one. We stayed in Cambrils on the Costa Dorada... Much preferred it as it more Spanish that the likes of Salou. Fab beach there, very safe for kids as it is shallow and no big waves. Very reasonable priced restaurants, beer etc... Would go back without hesitation!
