I have a good bit of hedge cutting to do, I'll probly have to get a digger to do the job now because the ground is so wet. Do any of you lads know what the hourly rates would be for the saw and flail head thanks:)

Paid €60 for saw and €70 for flail in the last couple of years.

Thanks justjens, not too bad I suppose, output would be higher than tractor outfit I suppose and they can reach and cut into some of the awkward spots too:)

Agriman - if you don't mind me hijacking your thread. Does anyone know if you can get a flail head to suit the back actor of a digger.
We have a 50B and I always think it is a shame that there does not seem to be an attachment to cut the hedges. Maybe its because the hydraulic system is not large enough to accommodate a hedge cutter ???

Doubt the hydraulics would be fit to do much with it. And the stability would be an issue, you'd have to stop and jack up the digger each time. Track machine works ok because you can cut a bit then track on a few feet.
You'd turn the 50 over if you stuck the arm out beside you without the legs down...

Mulcher, as it's known, can cut up to 8" and he managed to cut the butt of a large ash tree full of sheep wire with the saw:eek:

Well worth the money and very little mess.
