I would like to go back to college in September, I am currently in receipt of Jobseekers allowance and I have already completed a fetac level 5 course, the course I want to do is also fetac level 5, but I will not be entitled to Back to Education Allowance, is there any other assistance I am entitled to? I am 23 years old.

As I won't be able to go back to college unless I find a job before september to either save up to keep me going through the college year or a job with hours suitable for working outside of college. Thanks!

Only idea would be to look for a similar course at level 6 or at college at degree level. You could also look at fas/solas to see if there any course that are similar to what you want

Alreaady checked into those options, my fetac level 5 results weren't good enough to get into 3rd level and no fas or solas courses related to what I want to do :( thank you for your reply :)

have you checked if you're eligible for vtos scheme.
depending on your fetac 5 results, some vec colleges accept people onto level 6 courses.

Have you checked colleges in your area to see if they do an access course. You apply and then have to do an interview. It prepares you for going to college (gives you basic maths, computer and English skills) and you can do the access course in humanities, business or science. Provided then you pass the course you get automatic entry into a number of 3rd level courses. You will be eligible to get BTEA for this and is a great way to get into college. Did one in UL and am now in 4th year :)

Thanks for replies, will check out the access courses also but would rather just do the fetac level 5 and 6 instead of 3rd level, having already done 2 yrs of courses another 3/4 yrs isn't very appealing :(
