Hi folks, buying a car and could do with some advice please.
I'm looking at a 01 renault megane 1.4 petrol hatchback 115kmls mint condition NCT until end of feb no tax or a 2000 Opel Astra 1.4 also excellent condition with 170kmls and with NCT until august 2014 no tax.
My sister has a megane same year and hasn't given her any trouble what so ever.
Not to ofey with the astra but I've heard there good enough cars and with high mileage like what's on the one I'm looking at tomorrow there engines must be good.
Any advice on which of the two cars I should go for?

    Thanks folks.

end feb is not long away for nct

have you test drove both cars,i rented an astra once and it could not take corners it kept sliding

bring car to mechanic to check out,the lower km car should be better

200k-km should be limit for both cars

you could bring in both cars for a pre nct test

heres one I am sure theres others

Hi i probaly will go for the megane As it only has 115 thousand miles and that model/year was the best of a bad bunch.
I wouldn't bother with those pre NCT rackets I'd rather just put her through and let the NCT centre tell me if I need anything done if it fails.
Going to have a look tomorrow at the megane.

    Cheers.
