    Hi people,

can anyone recommend a good relationship councellor in the Dublin area that will help with insecurity/relationship issues? I need to address some crap cause it's starting to affect me and I'm afraid it's going to start to affect my relationship too. Generally word of mouth is better in these situations but this isn't an issue I can discuss with people. If you've had positive results in a similar situation and can point me to a good therapist/councellor you'd be doing me a serious favour, all new to this and can see from the forums that councelling doesn't work for a lot of people so looking forward to hearing if your previous experience benefitted you,

p.s. I know every situation is different and that your GP can recommend someone but if anyone has a recommendation I would prefer to go with that.

    thanks

I'm not sure that it's appropriate to recommend a specific professional on this forum so that might explain the lack of replies.

Over in Science>Psychology forum, there is a sticky at the top that has some information. Maybe you could go to your GP and ask for a recommendation also? I'm sure he/she gets feedback from regular patients. It would also be fine to ring up a few on the phone to ask about cost/experience/how they work and get a 'feel' of how you might get on with them, without committing straightaway.

I found my therapist at this place in Ranelagh. I think they have a place on the north side too http://mymind.org/

They have lots of different services and therapists so if you give them a call and tell them what you are looking for they'll help match you to the right service. I was also charged a discounted rate when I was unemployed which made things a lot easier :)

I'd recommend Aria Therapy on Capel Street. Not sure I can recommend specific therapists (sorry!). They do low cost counselling too with their trainees.
