Paddy powers price pages withdrawn from Aertel. Click p280 on Aertel, the last man standing is boyles.Once the bookmaking stalwarts of Aertel when at one time there was about 6-8 different bookmakers supplying prices on this platform now there is just 1. Anyone know the reason why?. It was handy for those when bookmakers was blocked on certain networks.

I guess for PP it was just advertising. Didnt pay to keep it going so they opt out. Most of their business now is online, mobile or in the shops. I wouldnt think much is over the phone which is what their aertel page would be any use for.

At one time I would estimate there were > 20 bookies using Aertel, even a lot of small independents had pages. Remember the good old days using it to check the ante post odds, if you missed your race you had to wait for another 20 or so pages to come around :)

haha yeah i remember that!, you could pause the page though but you would miss the next page or two when you took pause off, or was that just ceefax. Ceefax was more reliable on the pause as the seconds between the page change was regular so as long as you didnt pause for more that 7 or so seconds you were always going to get the next page on the turn but the auto page turn on aertel was irregular and a bit of a gamble!
