Holiday ideas in Ireland?

    Hi guys,
    I was hoping for some advice on where to go in Ireland for a family holiday.
    I had a bit of a look around myself and so far I seen Trabolgan among others.
    It does look very convenient and fun with having everything close by, but at just over 3K for a two week stay for 8 of us it seems to be out of the question.
    If anyone could recommend somewhere I would appreciate it.
    I'm open to suggestions but ideally it would be kid friendly and friendly to bigger kids like me lol

    Hi - Trabolgan is great but expensive if you pay full price. They usually have early bird offers which help. I would also suggest trying to rent a house near by and do some Day Trip visits to Trabolgan - you can stay all day and use all the facilities (some have an extra charge regardless of whether you stay there or not). Hogans Irish Cottages are good. You can also visit places like Cobh and Foto.
    I have 3 kids 6,4,2 it is suitable for them but probably even more suited to older kids.

    check out the talbot hotel in carlow.... they usuall have great deals....and they have a swimming pool, and the dome is beside it , you can bowl there and they have kiddie play areas... Been there lots of times ...the staff and the food are great...
