    Hi,

    I've just joined this forum page today in seek of some help.
    i am planning a trip away to propose to my girlfriend of 6years to either Dubai/Abu Dhabi or New York.. I've done all the maths on the cost of getting there and accommodation and it works out around the same price..

    The question is where would I get better value for money??
    Or is Antwerp an option??

    Any help would be greatly appreciated..

    Would you consider Cape Town? Great clause over there.

    We went thee for three weeks and hit our rings over there, when we got them valued over here, we had actually had a three week holiday, incl flights hotel spending money and rings for cheaper

    Can you explain more / more detail on Cape town rings. Why its cheaper. Where to shop? Quality etc etc

    Lots of gold and diamonds actually come from South Africa, all are certified and there's good bargains to be had,

    We got ours in Olga jewellers in the V and A her husband buys for Boodles and hence has access to great diamonds at the best prices.
    Also as its outside the EU your getting VAT free
