Photo(s) of the Year?

    Just throwing out an idea ... which may already exist or have been floated before and ditched .... nonetheless ....

    I thought it might be fun/interesting/motivating to have a 'Boards.ie Photo of the Year' based on one of two things:

    1. The top 52/53 POTWs for the given year
    or
    2. The top X number of photos (open to discussion on the number) based on 'thanks' received (which would probably be different than 1. above - a second/third place in POTW one week could have more thanks than a first of another week).

    It might make for a very good Photo Book around February of the following year (based on leaving the last POTW to end of January). We could have a running open thread on current POTY (we may need to have a look at that acronym!!!) positions throughout the year.

    Thoughts?

    if you want to tot up all the thanks, be my guest. but it's not a job i am volunteering to do! haha :p
    when i do POTW, i write everything on scraps of paper. i don't keep a database of thanks given.

    If you are going to do a photo book, would you consider maybe themes?

    Is it possible to judge on other areas and not just thanks. Can be somewhat biased ;)

    Understood Dirtyghettokid I wouldn't do that either but it might be much easier going forward than doing it retrospectively?

    I might put a thread together showing the POTWs for 2013 just as an exercise to show some of our most liked photos. I think you have to do that in multiple posts as you're only allowed 15 images per post. Anyway, if you didn't object I might give it a try.

    @Iamxavier ... tbh that would just get messy in my opinion. At least using most thanks or POTW we have criteria which we can't be blamed for!!
