Politicians Classes

I see no issue with politicians taking "acting" classes as it's clearly a skill that gets someone far in the business. I would take serious issue with the tax payer picking up the cost of those classes tho.

Since it's the daily mail I'm also gonna assume the classes are mostly for public speaking skills and that sort of thing, but that doesn't sound nearly as shocking.
Edit: Just read the rest of the article and it appears that's exactly what it is.

Pantomime would definitely be the best training for them. There is very little difference between Pantomime and Irish Politics.

How to tell lies all day and sleep all night would also be a good course for Irish politics.

You have not got an issue with your taxes paying for the classes for the wealthy.
This money should go towards food for the needy and there is certainly enough of them at present.

If they pay for it themselves then who cares? In fact, I can see how acting and improv classes would be of great benefit to someone in politics - it would be a good investment.

Asking the taxpayer to fund it however would be taking the piss...

Missing the point. Most decisions are made behind closed doors and or at senior civil service level. What your getting in the Dail is just for show. No meaningful debate. No sign of democracy. A show. Its appropriate that show looks well presented at least.

TL;DR vote for democracy next time or STFU.

I specifically said in the post you quoted that I take serious issue with the tax payer picking up the bill for said classes.

A politician taking acting lessons is akin to a racingdriver taking driving lessons. Politics is all a stage, it would be more in the line of the general public to take cop-on lessons to realise this.
