Does an airsoft "party" for a a gang of 9 year old boys sound like a good idea, or a recipe for disaster? I have no further details other than that I'm afraid.

I know very little about airsoft, its safety, legalities etc. but in my experience even Nerf guns in their hands when excited can lead to trouble, albeit with limited consequences other than tears. Is airsoft likely to lead to anything worse?

Too young i would think and probably not allowed by vast majority of sites. 1 or 2 may be ok with an adult who can make sure they keep the goggles on, but if there is a bunch of them they'll get excited like you said and surely one of them will pop them up. And as the younger lads tend to be trigger happy even when they shouldn't (in the safe area or approaching it) they'll be bound to start shooting each other at the wrong time.

on adults bb's can draw blood and regularly lead to welts. on kids that age I can see the majority of them getting shot once and ending up in tears. there is also the very real risk that child that age will take there eye protection off in the game zone.

Actually Kilkenny airsoft do 8+ but its not actually airsoft skirmishing ,
Its actual Airsoft shooting range they would only be shooting at paper targets in a pretty safe environment
    Maybe be worth checking out

Thanks folks, I think the intention is a shooting range type thing alright but extensive experience of 9 year old boys is that they are guaranteed to behave like 9 year olds and forget all instructions once given what they want.

I think its a bad idea, we'll see.....
