Such a pity they weren't made as well as they were designed.

Also the really sad thing about that SD1 is that most of it's unique features were cut away and discarded during it's restoration. A real shame as I understand they were perfectly salvageable.

I'm kinda tempted by the rumble of a V8, must be mid life crisis creeping up!

Friend of my father's had one of them in the early '80s. IIRC it nearly drove him nuts with problems, until he chopped it in for a Mk. II Granada 2.3. Anyone else love the name of the town, "Shepton Mallet"?? :D

There were many details to the interior that we're specific it the development car and as I recall it originally had a central exhaust with a boot floor to accommodate it. Sadly it was all removed and binned.

Wonder would the lack of same devalue it - not that I'd buy anything other than a Vitesse

    Taken from the SD1 forum.

"The car was in a really rough state (11 owners and a shot engine) when he bought it with holes everywhere. If it had been any other SD1 it would have been scrapped without a doubt. Sadly though not much of the original car is left and the various owners since (one a complete wally from Birmingham who bought a 16000 mile 2600 PLUS Keith Adams Top Gear car KYF and broke them both for a few trim pieces for JYF, which he then sold!) have fitted wrong wheels and other bits. From memory it had new front and rear panels and inner wings, sills, etc etc (triggers broom!)"

Interesting and honest ad - how many movies/TV shows are going to be made featuring 'Grampian Police' tho' £2500+ for a 'kit car' ?

    I have one in storage.

Any ideas how much it would be worth? Irish Reg'd.

Must be a rare beast nowadays?

I think I know where there's an abandoned 2600 SD1. Was fairly bad last time I saw it thigh

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
