    Hi,

I was given a very generous present of a MacBook Air........don't really use laptops that much except for a bit of webtime and watching dvds. However the Air doesnt have the capability for dvds!!! Would Apple take it back and give me something that would?? Or is there some device I can get to watch dvds and link to the Air??

    Cheers for the help

There is something called a superdrive that you can get for ~80euro from the apple online store that connects to the air or any mac to play cd/dvds. im sure you can get it in a compu b store as well.

The only macbook that has a cd drive these days is the old macbook pro without retina screen.

Personally, I'd go with another named external DVD drive from Samsung or from whoever else, most tend to support the Mac OS and can be powered by 1 USB cable. Plus, you can always use it on a Windows machine if there were ever the need.

The Superdrive is locked down to only work on certain Macs and can be a good €30-€40 more expensive than generic ones.

Rip a bunch onto another computer and then load them onto the Mac if you've got an external harddrive? Will save buying an External CD drive.
