    Hi fellow savers,

I saw the new (or not) offers on their website today.

I'm currently on the 120/10MB + Freetime phone, paying 49 Euro a month.

I've just rang and although I'm not getting the 25 Euro per month for the first six months (it's for new customers only), I'm getting the new 44Euro price if I sign a 12 Months contract (still unlimited).

As I've no plan on changing provider I just done that and will be saving 60 Euro over the next 12 months.

    Arik

Looks like the OP only has broadband and phone with them

I'm on 30mb internet (Fine for me even though i consider myself a heavy user) and the TV value package and i'm paying €58 a month.

The internet is fine but the Tv is woeful, i can't even get E4+1. Might ring them up and complain. Give me something extra, I've been a customer for years.

Let us know how you get on. Be interested to see whether or not they would be willing to give us a few extra channels as well, like Living. Sky was much better for channel selection when it came down to price, but unfortunately UPC's interwebz is far far better at the moment.

I rang them a while back, said I wanted to cancel. after a bit of wingeing, I got put through to customer loyality (probably some bloke beside main fella:D)

Got 120meg BB,Value tv,Home Phone for 62 a month. I see they are doing horizon for an extra 4euro month so might upgrade.

    12 Months

I went online and upgraded from 100mb to 200mb.

so now have a 200mb line, for an extra €3 a month.
now paying €52 instead of €49.

It's cheaper for us now to 'upgrade' to 120mb over the current 30mb...

Folks, after 12 months with UPC, call up and ask for the customer loyalty deal. €5 off each service per month. That's €5 off TV, €5 off broadband and €5 off phone. Always get the phone with broadband cuz it works out cheaper than just broadband on its own. That's €180 saved per year for ya

Is that customer loyalty deal only valid for people with all 3 services? I've only the phone and broadband

They might deny "customer loyalty" exists. I had to be quite insistent to get through the last time.

There's certainly no mention of it on their site. I think the house moving dept. did it for me with no fuss (it was down on an old thread here as a direct number for Customer Loyalty Department).

I know that this would never happen but I'd love it if Sky & UPC teamed up.
Sky's tele is great but their broadband is brutal. (Service is grand for me, just speeds)

To get the best deal you phone up UPC and say you want to cancel as you know you are out of contract and money is tight. You will get transferred to the"loyalty team". Their job is to stop you cancelling. They will offer you a **** offer at first like a free horizon box and package that will cost you more pre month. Tell them you still want to quit. Then they will offer you free phone. Tell them is still not enough.

I got phone, TV and BB for €40. With a new contract. But I was going to stay with UPC anyway

I was on 50MBps broadband connection with UPC and got approx 30MBps speeds using speedtest.net. I was told that you can lose speeds over the wifi connection so I wasnt that annoyed, but then I moved to the 200MBps and now im getting 44MBps speeds which to me is just not acceptable.

When I call up UPC and complain they say its because it is over WIFI and not wired, I wouldnt mind if they gave me a decent router but they have given me possibly the worst router in history, the EPC3925. They had a technician out who just argued with me for half an hour telling me you lose speed over wifi, but I was standing right beside the router and the best I was getting was 60MBps.

Anyway if you can upgrade for nothng or very little then why not.

Did you connect your PC to the router via ethernet to prove him wrong (or right?)

If he's right, he's right - and if he's wrong then you can hassle UPC for a decent service......

    I've 50Mb BB, phone and DigitalMax TV - €35 p.m. - couldn't be happier TBH.

Hes not wrong you do lose speeds over wifi and yes I used a wired connection and did get 200MB but with a good router with a decent antenna to project the signal this would minimise loss. My problem is the router which I was told I would get a new one but turns out the customer service agent was lying.

sounds very cheap. You sure that this is not a 6mth special? Sure basic BB & phone costs more than that.

unless you have top end (and we talk €150+ router and at least €50-70, 3 antennas equipment, preferably 5Ghz) ~50-60 Mbps is all that You can have over wifi, no matter what your connection is

to do proper test you have to do it over the wire, just make sure your ethernet connection is 1Gbps not 100Mbps

No I think that title goes to their (UPCs) new Technicolour ****e all in one units that they are sending out for the last year or so. It's a router and mode, and you can't disable the router component of it, so can't use your own router with it.

My contract was due to expire in March, I rang them the other day to tell them Sky had offered me a deal on TV and Internet(they didn't). I'm on the 50mb Internet and phone, it was €40 a month. I got it for €30.50 for the next 12 months.

Worth it for anyone coming up to the end of their contract like I was :)
