    Much like the previous What's on in the City? thread, the same principles apply.

    Here you can notify others of things; events, happenings, concerts, good restaurants, table quizzes, fundraisers, classes, for the month and following months. Any events pertaining to later months will be carried over until the event is over.

    A few rules, however;
    You have to have 200 posts or more to post, or >1 years on boards.
    Tell us a little about the event - posting a flyer will not do and will count as spam.
    Once an event has been posted in this thread don't repost it - no bumping or reminding of events either.
    Old events, too much chat, spam or topics that don't belong will be (re)moved.

    A feast of choral music is in store for music lovers on Saturday January 25th, when Galway Choral Association presents its Winter Concert in St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, Galway at 8pm.

    This Winter Evening of Choral Music is being staged this year by Galway Choral Association to support the work of Croí in the area of Heart Disease & Stroke.

    The concert will feature Mozart’s well known “Credo” Mass in C Major and the choir, under the baton of Musical Director Norman Duffy, will be accompanied on organ by Galway native David Grealy. Four emerging singing talents will join the choir as soloists for the performance: Sarah Skerritt, soprano, Judith Lyons, alto, Eoin Hynes, tenor and Brian Kelly, bass.

    The choir will also perform the haunting “Funeral Ikos” by Sir John Tavener and the beautiful “Cantique de Jean Racine” by Gabriel Fauré. Tavener died on Nov 12th last and the choir is looking forward to singing his wonderful music in his memory.

    The concert will be opened by guests, The Acapella Knights, a recently formed Galway based male singing group.

    Tickets cost €15 (€12 concessions) and are available from Opus II, 4 High Street, Galway (Phone 091-500300), the Croí Heart & Stroke Centre, Moyola Lane, Newcastle, (Phone 091-544310) from Association members or at the door on the night.

    Tickets are also available on-line from www.croi.ie.

    Further details are available on www.galwaychoral.ie and www.croi.ie
